| MJ's photo of my boots and spurs |
I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 1952.
Raised in Las Cruces and El Paso. Me parece que soy siempre un niño de la frontera. ¡Ay! que rica las bendiciónes
de mi tierra. Gracias a Dios y también a mis padres.
Attempting a resume anymore is futile: BFA
in drawing and printmaking, MA in Art History, Peace Corps volunteer, Anglican Church lay worker (illustrator), and nearly
thirteen years as a Forest Service seasonal: Wilderness "Ranger", wrangler, packer, trail crew supervisor and wildland firefighter,
oh and did I mention being a lookout? Most just shake their heads in disbelief and walk away. Those kinder, smile,
stifling a yawn. But that's ok. All this has ended me up where I am. All those days are gone. Well,
there HAS been all that experience, it's got to amount to something, no? Never won the girl or the
lotto. Retirement was never an option. Whew! I can breathe easier now and get on with celebrating this imperfect
life. I'll keep at this artwork, come hell or high water. The proof IS in the pudding. But of course,
tastes vary. Personally, I never cared for pudding, preferred the flan.

Review
of "NM 26": "Robert Park takes digital techniques to present a dramatic setting developed from sketches. 'NM
26' is one of the most compelling in that on the left is the dark side and on the right is the lighter side and in between
is the rain bridging the right and left and top and bottom. It’s quite nice to see something so richly created from
traditional sketching eventually developed with high-tech." Upstream People Gallery
